Basic Furniture Painting

Basic Furniture Painting is a hands-on workshop that covers techniques involved in painting furniture. Experiment with products including Porter's acrylic paints and special finishes; Milk Paint, Duchess Satin, Chalk Emulsion, and many more. Learn how to prepare your pieces and tricks of the trade with application to produce unique statements pieces. Techniques covered include striping, antiquing, distressing, French provincial, stippling and dragging.

Each student is required to bring one piece of furniture, which may be previously painted or varnished or in the natural form of raw timber. A light sanding of the item is suggested before attending the workshop. The piece of furniture must not be waxed.

This class is taught by Rebecca Neill, a special finish painting specialist, with a maximum of 8 students to a workshop. All materials used during the workshop are included and Trade Price is given to any paints and materials bought on the day. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
